Project Antarctica Jacket 4:30 PM

The next day after our arrival in San Francisco, as we walked to the Haight Street neighborhood, we stumbled upon the Goodwill store located on Haight Street, and even tough this particular GW is a little bit overpriced being that it is in such a tourist inclined area, I was able to grab this MADE IN HONG KONG jacket specially made for society expeditions, it looks like it could be mid 80's to early 90's, I thought, Hey, if it was made for Antarctica, it should be ok to keep me warm during the winter, and so it has. I paid $16 and they were well spent, plus it is a good conversation starter.

Garage Sale Finds 1:52 AM

Garage sales are a socially acceptable way to be nosy and look through someone else’s stuff, also, observing what other people have done with their lives and how this is reflected in what they are getting rid of is as interesting as the bargains itself.
This Acrylic was found at a Rummage sale in the outskirts of Sebastopol, we paid $4 bucks for it and enjoy looking at it every day.
It was painted by Betsy Shimmel in 1967, she called it "Fall Color", her complete name was Fern "Betsy" Louise Fletcher Shimmel she was born in Battlecreek, MI on Dec. 5, 1914. “Betsy” wed Frank Shimmel in 1939 and moved California. She obtained her teaching credentials about 1970 and then taught at Santa Rosa Junior College for several years. She died in Sebastopol, CA on Aug. 23, 2006.
